Web Services providing occurrence of extreme temperature and rainfall from


climatologically perspective.
Objectives
1. Aim of the project is to design database of top five monthly extreme values of
maximum temperature and rainfall.
2. Using this data base designing web based application which will display
occurrence of extreme value whenever it lies among the top five slots.
3. Update the database with the new values.
Importance of this project
In recent past we have seen that the intensity and the frequency of the
extreme events have increased significantly. Which has often leads to loss of life
and property. Prompt information regarding these extreme events can be useful in
following ways.
1. Can give very useful information to the administration to take precautionary
steps for reducing the loss.
2. Will provide information to the general public which can take necessary steps
like staying indoors etc
3. Help planners in planning various projects which has environmental extremes
as very important input.
4. This information will be very useful for the disaster mitigation
