Robotics

Robotics is the use of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering to create autonomous or semi-autonomous machines. Robots can range from simple machines like toys and soda dispensers to complex machinery used in space exploration and drones. Robotics is used in many areas including manufacturing, medical devices, and prosthetics. Individuals can learn robotics through college courses, high school STEM programs, online forums, and building robots with kits that include Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LEGOs, and Vex robotics.

ROBOTICS

MICHAEL NIGRO

TERMS PEOPLE MIGHT WANT TO KNOW?

Actuator- a part that is design to move. Hinge, wheel, etc.
Microcontroller- a brain for the robot or system that is being used
Sensor- an electronic device, either digital or analog, that is used to detect
input

Drone- an unmanned autonomous vehicle

WHAT IS ROBOTICS AND WHERE IS IT USED?

Robotics is the use of mechanical, electrical and computer science engineering
fields in order to create a fully or semi autonomous mechanical system

What defines a robot?

Basically a machine that after it is started can be left alone or needs very minimal
assistance

WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE

The common view is a complex machine that need a team of engineers
to maintain. IE: advanced drones or rovers

Technically robots can range from any simple machine thats used in
everyday life to complex machinery

WHERE IS ROBOTICS ACTUALLY USED

To understand that ether are different levels of robotics

These can range between simple robotics such as toys, soda machines, and machines such
as 3D Printers and CNC machines.

To complex machinery used in space exploration and some drones used today.
to high precision medical devices and advanced prosthetics

HOW DOES AN INDIVIDUAL LEARN

College courses and campuses

Sometimes high schools (depends on weather they have a stem program)
Online forums
Kits;

Arduino, raspberry pi, beagle bone

Tetrix robotics
Legos
Vex robotics
