Ms. Stys, a student teacher, will be conducting a unit on World War II for her class. The unit will cover the causes of the war, how the Axis powers initially advanced across Europe and failed to conquer Britain, Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union and the Holocaust. It will also discuss how the Allied powers began pushing back the Axis, the D-Day invasion, and the final defeat of Nazi Germany and Japan. The unit will examine the issues faced after the war and the founding of the United Nations, as well as new post-war conflicts among the former Allies.
