EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
The scene starts off in a field. It is quiet and peaceful.
The camera is at a lower angle, right above the ground,
looking across an empty field. Suddenly, Sam falls onto the
ground, his face taking up most of the screen. The camera
cuts to Wayne on top of Sam, trying to punch him in the
face. The audience quickly realizes that these two are
brutally bare knuckle fighting one-another.
After a few punches and kicks have been exchanged, the two
stop to catch their breath, but never take their eyes off
one-another. After a few moments, both of them get in a
stance, ready to sprint. Both of them, at full speed, charge
each other. The screen goes black, but the audio of the
fight can still be heard, while the title of the film "Red
Hands and White Knuckles" appear on the screen.
INT. RAMS DEN- BISTRO
The camera pans in through the Rams Den, a small dining area
for students. Wayne, Sam, and Stephanie are seen sitting in
the Rams Den. Wayne has a cigarette over his ear, as if to
save it for later.
SAM
Leave it alone...
STEPHANIE
No, smoking is bad for you.
SAM
So is half the shit we eat!
Stephanie flinches as Waynes voice raises. All becomes
quiet and still at the table.
SAM
Im getting food.
Wayne gets up and goes to the Rams Den food area.
Nazahne and Stephanie sit at the table alone.
WAYNE
We should tell him.
STEPHANIE
Dont you dare say a word to him.

WAYNE
He is gonna find out sooner or
later!
STEPHANIE
Not if we keep it to ourselves! You
know what will happen if he finds
out.
The camera pans out, slowly fading out the audio of Nazahne
and Stephanie, and follows Sam through the Rams Den food
area, unaware of the conversation taking place.
Sam gets his food and walks back to the table. Wayne and
Stephanie are now quiet. Wayne sits down and begins to eat.
Sam looks at Stephanie. He notions to her.
SAM
Want some?
STEPHANIE
No thanks.
Sam shrugs, continues to eat, and holds Stephanies hand.
Wayne watches in silence.
EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
Wayne gets hit. Wayne and Sam continue to fight in the
field. The final shot is Sam being hit.
EXT.SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY- DAY
Wayne and Sam are seen walking through a parking lot.
SAM
I cant stand this place anymore.
WAYNE
Why?
SAM
Its too small. Cant avoid running
into people here.
WAYNE
Thats not necessarily a bad thing.

Is so if you are trying to avoid
someone.
WAYNE
Who are you avoiding?
SAM
Stephanie.
WAYNE
Why?
SAM
She wont leave me alone.
WAYNE
I wonder why.
SAM
Who knows. She is so clingy
nowadays. Its really strange.
Wayne and Sam stop and see Jake and Casey next to Jakes
car. Sam smiles to Wayne.
SAM
Watch this.
Wayne walks up behind Jake. Jake doesnt notice.
SAM
Jake.
JAKE
(startled)
Sam!
SAM
Who is this?
JAKE
Nobody.
CASEY
(To Jake)
Excuse me?
SAM
She isnt another girl you tried to
steal, is it?

Im his girlfriend!
SAM
Funny, he acts pretty single when
youre not around.
JAKE
Come on, man...

Sam raises his hand in the air, as if he is gonna hit Jake.

Jake flinches and prepares for impact.
Sam looks at Casey, then back at Jake. Sam nods his head.
Sam begins to walk away. Wayne quickly follows.
WAYNE
What was that?
SAM
Just some prick getting what he
deserves. Maybe hell leave
Stephanie alone now.
WAYNE
He was bothering her?
SAM
From what Ive heard, yeah. But,
not anymore. She belongs to me, not
that freak.
Wayne stops to turn around and look at Jake and Casey, who
are now arguing and interrogating. Wayne turns back around
and watches Sam continue to walk away from the mess he made.
EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
Opening shot of Wayne punching or kicking Sam. Sam and Wayne
continue to fight. Closing shot of Wayne falling back off
frame, the camera soon quickly following her.
INT. RAMS DEN- NIGHT
Wayne walks out of the bathroom. He pulls out his phone and
pulls it up to his ear.
WAYNE
Hello.
Stephanies voice can be heard.

STEPHANIE
Hey...
WAYNE
Hey. You good? You sound bothered.
STEPHANIE
Yeah, Im fine.
WAYNE
You told him, didnt you?

Silence.
WAYNE
Where are you?
STEPHANIE
Your apartment.
WAYNE
Alright. Ill be back soon.
Wayne pulls the phone away from his ear and puts it in his
pocket. He takes a breath and begins to walk outside.
EXT. SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY- NIGHT
Wayne walks outside and takes a breathe.
Wayne looks around, as if he is aware that he is being
watched. The camera pans up to show that Sam is watching him
from a window above Wayne.
Wayne turns around and looks up, seeing Sam. Wayne slowly
turns around and begins to walk towards Parking Lot A. As
Wayne crosses the street, Sam walks away and disappears from
sight.
As soon as Wayne walks through the side patio of the
library, Sam bursts through the doors of the Rams Den.
Wayne quickly hides behind one of the patio walls, before
Sam can see him. Sam looks around for Wayne, on the other
side of the wall. Wayne slowly moves to see if Sam is
looking.
Sam walks past the wall, towards A Lot, not noticing
hiding. Wayne quickly presses up against the wall of
science building. Sam turns around and walks back to
patio. As soon as Sam passes Wayne, he quickly moves
Lot.

Wayne reaches his car and gets in. Sam turns around and
begins to run towards the car. Wayne starts the car ,pulls
out of the parking space, and begins to exit the parking
lot, as Sam closely chases on foot. He gives up as soon as
Wayne exits out of A Lot and begins to drive uphill. He
turns around and reenters A lot, as the camera continues to
pan out.
EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
Eventually, Sam punches Wayne in the kidney, causing him to
gasp for air on the ground. As he gasps for air, Sam circles
around him, watching like a lion.
Sam stops a few feet directly behind him and begins to
unbuckle his belt.
INT.PRINTZ HALL- WAYNES APARTMENT- NIGHT
Wayne walks into the entrance of Printz and sees Stephanie
waiting for him.
WAYNE
Hey! Jesus, you scared me!
STEPHANIE
Sorry.
WAYNE
How did you get in?
STEPHANIE
I have my ways.
Wayne walks in and closes the door behind him. He sets his
keys down at the counter and takes off his shoes in his
room. He comes back to the living room and sits down.
WAYNE
You okay?
STEPHANIE
Yeah.
WAYNE
What happened?
STEPHANIE
Nothing really. I told him. He
didnt say anything. Then, he left.
Wayne nods, gets up and goes to the fridge.

WAYNE
Want anything?
STEPHANIE
No.
Wayne begins to pour himself a glass of water, hands shaking
while he does it.
Stephanie gets up and begins to gently sooth Wayne by
rubbing his arms.
STEPHANIE
Whats wrong?
WAYNE
Nothing.
Wayne begins to drink his glass of water.
STEPHANIE
Look at me.
Wayne looks over at Stephanie.
STEPHANIE
You always was a bad liar.
Wayne and Stephanie begin to kiss. Wayne pushes Stephanie up
against the wall, continuing to kiss her.
STEPHANIE
Give me one minute.
Stephanie runs off to Waynes room. The camera pans back as
Wayne begins to undo his belt. As he undoes his belt, Wayne
begins to walk towards her room.
EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
Sam walks up behind Wayne and wraps it around his neck,
choking the life out of him. Wayne tries to stop Sam, by
putting his fingers in Sams eyes and face, but Sam never
stops.
INT.PRINTZ HALL- WAYNES APARTMENT- NIGHT
Wayne and Stephanie lay in bed next to each other, tired.

STEPHANIE
Youre gonna have to face him.
WAYNE
I know.
STEPHANIE
Will you, though?
WAYNE
I dont really have a choice.

INT. RAMS DEN- BISTRO

Wayne walks through the entrance doors of the Rams Den and
continues to walk through towards the bistro. Wayne walks up
to the same table they always sit at, where Sam currently
waits for him.
WAYNE
Sam.
SAM
Wayne.
Wayne sits down across from Sam. Neither of them say
anything for a few moments.
WAYNE
Sam, I dont want any trouble. I
came to make peace.
SAM
Nobody wants trouble, yet you make
it.
WAYNE
I came... to make... peace.
SAM
I dont think there can be peace
between us.
Sam pulls the cigarette from his coat pocket. He looks at it
in front of him and twirls it in his fingers.
Wayne watches.
SAM
My grandfather gave me this. Said
it was lucky and I should smoke it
when I feel the luckiest Ive ever
been.

Wayne pulls the cigarette up to his nose and sniffs it.

SAM
Its stale now. Probably not so
lucky anymore, but who knows.
WAYNE
Sam...
SAM
He also told me stories. Told me
how back in the day people would
fight with their fists, instead of
guns.
Wayne doesnt say anything, but listens with caution.
SAM
And those who fought, usually ended
up becoming the best of friends.
Its weird how that works; building
a friendship through sheer violence
towards one another.
WAYNE
It sounds animalistic...
SAM
So... Everyones a little
animalistic.
WAYNE
What are you implying?
Sam leans forward in his seat.
SAM
If there is any chance for us to
come to terms with one another,
this is how.
WAYNE
By fighting one-another?
SAM
Not just fighting, but...
reinvigorating our friendship.
Giving it a jump start.
WAYNE
I dont think...

SAM
No, no. You dont get to make any
inferences. You either accept or
decline my proposal.
Wayne thinks before making her decision.
SAM
When and where?
EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
Wayne walks onto the Intramural Field. Sam can be seen
waiting for him in the middle of the field. Wayne closes the
distance between the two.
He sees Sams belongings on the ground. He takes off his hat
and extra articles of clothing and lay them on the ground,
out of range of where the fight may take place.
As all of this happens, Sams voice can be heard.
SAM (V.O.)
The Intramural Field near H Lot.
Tomorrow.
WAYNE (V.O.)
Why there?
SAM (V.O.)
Its big, quiet, and we wont be
interrupted.
WAYNE (V.O.)
Should I bring anything.
Wayne and Sam stand in the middle of the field, a few yards
apart, facing one another.
SAM (V.O.)
Nope. Just yourself.
Wayne and Sam sprint towards one another.
INT. RAMS DEN- BISTRO
Wayne and Sam sit at the table, staring at one another.
SAM
See you soon.

Wayne nods and stands from the tabl, nods at Wayne, and
leaves.
EXT.INTRAMURAL FIELD
Wayne elbows Sam in the groin, causing Sam to release his
grip on the belt and collapse on the ground.
Wayne crawls away from Sam, gaining some distance between
himself and Sam. He too, then, crashes on the ground. They
both lay on the ground, exhausted. Sam sits up and looks at
Wayne. He reaches for his belongings and pulls out a lighter
and his lucky cigarette. Wayne watches him as he places the
cigarette in his mouth and light it. He looks up at Wayne
and extends it, as an offering, towards him.
The End
