The document discusses reflections on a project involving maps, borders, and movement. It notes key design elements learned, such as using line and shape to direct the eye. It describes initial struggles to execute project ideas and realizing simplification was needed. A reflection evaluates progress, noting the desert theme could be stronger and simplifying was essential to conveying the message clearly. Too many ideas made the project difficult at first.

Project 1 Reflection: Shifting Terrain-Maps, Borders and Movement
Key Content/Getting Started Questions to Consider
What are some of the key design content points that you took from Lessons 1-5? How using line or implied line can direct the viewers eye and that contrast, value, shape And the use of positive and negative space can create a sense of importance to an object/s or subject in a 2 dimensional format. Also, that repeated motifs can imply rhythm and how one can use all of these elements to inform a viewer or convey an idea. In Progress Reflection Questions to Consider Am I on the Right Track? What is going well? Where am I having problems? What questions do I have that would help complete this project successfully? While I thought that I was on the right track, I kept stumbling on how to proceed with the project after coming up with my idea. Ideas for design possibilities would come to me but attempting to execute them proved to be difficult. It occurred to me after addressing my idea for the project and doing some more research that perhaps I was making things more difficult than they had to be. I thought that simplifying my initial design would be better. Evaluation Reflection Questions to Consider How well did I do in solving the problems posed by this project? What came out well? What could I have done better? What key things did I learn and how are they reflected in my project? What could I have done differently? What did I learn from m work on this project that I can apply in the future? While I am pleased with my design I think that the idea of a desert doesnt appear to be very strong, I will think about how I could make improvements on that. It was much more difficult than I would have imagined to come up with a design that would convey my ideas. After re-thinking and asking myself what was essential to convey my message my project began to take shape and I was finally moving forward. Simplifying was essential for me and brought some real ideas to mind. Too much is sometimes just too much!
