PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES FOR DME I (06ME51)

The following PEOs were set at the beginning of semester keeping average students in focus
1. To teach the students fundamental concepts and approach to design of machine elements
2. To cover the full syllabus and revise for 100 marks
3. To make the students familiar with the use of Machine Design Handbooks
4. To solve university questions
5. To draw key sectional and assembled Views of machine elements and assemblies and make students to practice
6. To design all the machine elements and make students thoroughly familiar with the steps in machine elements.
7. To impart knowledge to students about operation and maintenance of each machine elements listed in the curriculum
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs):
At the end of semester, the students acquired following :
1. Students were well acquainted with the Basic parts design and effect of various loading ( individual /combined) in
different components of machine using various theories of failure.
2. Students had a fairly broad idea of steps involved in design of each machine assembly (Beams, Gears, Springs,
Bearings , Cylinders & cylinder heads, clutches and brakes so on ) and types of loading (fatigue, static and impact, and
so on).
3. Students were able to read sectional and assembled Views of machine elements and their design methodology.
4. Students were familiar with the functioning of the machine elements and full assemblies
5. Students became familiar with the fundamental aspects such as materials used in each machine element, dimensions
and sizes and overall general arrangement.
6. Students got familiarized with exploring the Machine Design Data Hand book.
