Conclusioncon

An experiment was conducted to study radiation heat transfer. The objectives were to verify the inverse square law for heat and show that radiation intensity decreases with the square of the distance from the source. Measurements were taken from 100mm to 600mm, and a graph of log distance versus log intensity showed intensity decreasing with distance, as expected. However, many factors can disturb radiation transmission, making it difficult to achieve the exact inverse square relationship.

Conclusion

In this experiment, a study on radiation heat transfer which is one of the modes in
heat transfer have been done. From that, the objectives which are to verify the
Inverse Square Law for Heat, and to show that tile intensity of radiation on a surface
is inversely proportional to the square of the distance of the surface from the
radiation source was achieved. As the result obtained which are from 100mm to
600mm, 1890 W/m2,1385 W/m2,785 W/m2, 495 W/m2, 345 W/m2 and 23W/m, a
graph log R versus log X is plotted. Based on the graph, can be said that radiation
energy is decreasing proportionally with the distance of the radiation. Then, the
slope obtained from the graph shown that the invert square law is almost
impossible to be achieving accurately because there are many factor that can
disturb the radiation energy transmission to the radiometer.
