Description
In this opening sequence, Finbarr shall be playing
football in his back garden to represent a very young
version of the main character. I have chosen Finbarr
to play this role as he is small and young which are
the main characteristics required for this role so his
physical appearance is very important. Finbarr is my
younger cousin so I am sure he would be open to
playing this role and he also enjoys playing and
watching football so he has some experience in this
role.
Jamie shall be used to represent a younger version
of myself. In this opening scene Jamie shall be seen
at the Shay stadium to show him signing for FC
Halifax Town. Jamie has the suitable appearance for
this as he is smaller than me which was the main
physical attribute that I was looking for. Jamie is also
a big football fan and he has played football for a lot
of years and developed skills from this. This is quite
important as this means that he will have a good
understanding of what is taking place in the opening
scene and he will also be able to display these skills
in the opening scene if required to do so.
I have chosen myself to play this role as I have
access to the main location for this opening scene
which is Goodison Park. I am also taller than Jamie
so this is important as I am representing an older
version of Jamie in this opening scene. Also like
Jamie, I have played football for a lot of years and
over this course of time I have developed good
football skills and I hope to portray these skills in the
opening scene. In this opening scene I shall score a
couple of goals in order to represent the common
code and convention in sport films, the success of
an athlete. However, at the end of this I will receive
a serious injury from a tough tackle and this will
create suspense for the viewer as they do not know
whether the main character will make the Euro 2016
team following this injury.

Description
In this opening scene Finbarr will be wearing a
Leeds Unitred shirt when playing football in his
backgarden. This shirt will represent that Finbarr is
interested in football and that he has been from a
young age. The audience could relate to this as my
target audience is young football fans and in this
scene Finbarr is displayed as a young football fan.

I shall ask Finbarr to wear football shorts as it is

quite normal for people to wear shorts when playing
football.
In this scene Finbarr shall be wearing kids football
boots. Football boots are worn by footballers so this
conveys the impression to the viewer that from a
very young age Finbarr is interested in being a
footballer. Football boots are also normally worn
when playing or training with a football so this
creates a realistic effect.

When Jamie is seen signing for FC Halifax Town he

shall be seen wearing a smart shirt and tie. When
footballers sign for clubs they are normally dressed
quite formally and this is a formal attire so this shall
create a realistic effect. Jamie shall wear the shirt
tucked in so that he appears more professional and
appropriate.

Jamie shall be wearing black suit pants when

signing for FC Halifax Town as again it is quite a
formal attire and when a footballer signs for a club
they are usually dressed quite formal so this shall
create a realistic effect.
For the scene when Jamie signs for FC Halifax
Town he shall be wearing a pair of smart shoes.
Smart shoes are worn for formal events so this will
highlight that Jamie is becoming successful and is
taking his footballing career very serious.

I shall be wearing a white shirt when signing for

Everton as it is quite formal and footballers usually
wear shirts when signing for football clubs. I shall
wear this shirt tucked in as it will look more
professional and formal. I will also be wearing a tie
with this shirt in order to appear more formal. Also
when footballers sign for clubs they are normally
wearing a tie so this will create a much more
realistic effect.

I am going to be wearing black suitpants when

signing for Everton as again it is a formal piece of
clothing. I will not need to be wearing a specific pair
of shoes when filming this scene as it will be filmed
using a mid shot so the camera will not see the
shoes which I am wearing.

In this opening scene I shall be wearing an Everton

FC shirt to represent that I have signed for and play
for Everton. In one scene I shall be seen holding the
Everton shirt up as a prop and later I will be wearing
it when playing football.

I will be wearing football shorts when playing football

as all outfield footballers are required to wear
football shorts when playing football. However, to
make this more realistic I am going to wear a pair of
Everton shorts for this scene.

In this scene I will be wearing shin pads. Footballers

are required to wear shin pads by the laws of the
game so I am going to wear shin pads to make this
more realisitic as all footballers wear shin pads.
In this scene I shall be scene wearing blue football
socks as these are the colour football socks which
Everton players wear so this will create a realistic
effect. Also all footballers are required to wear
football socks when playing football by the laws of
the game so again this will create a realistic effect.
In this scene I am going to be wearing a pair of
Adidas boots. I am going to be wearing football
boots as again in the laws of the game all footballers
must be wearing boots when playing football so this
makes the opening scene appear more realistic.

For the scene when I sign for Everton I shall be

wearing a pair of smart, brown leather shoes. Smart
shoes are worn for formal events so this will
highlight that I have bbecome successful and and
also when a player signs for a club they are
normally dressed quite formal so this creates a
realistic effect.

Description
In this opening scene I shall be using a football. My
entire opening scene is based around fooball and a
football game so I would consider a football as a
necessity for this scene and without a football this
opening scene my opening scene would not be able
to take place. This prop will be used when myself
and Jamie are playing football so me and Jamie
shall be using this prop. The football which I intend
to use is a white and black Nike one.
I will be using two newspaper articles for this
opening scene. The first newspaper article will be to
represent that Jamie is in very good form and
scoring for FC Halifax Town. The second article will
be used to say that premier league clubs are
becoming interested in Jamie due to his current
form and potential. In this opening scene an extra
will be seen picking up the paper and reading it. I
will use an extreme close up and an over the
shoulder shot for this scene. I will use a local
newspaper like The Courier as this will make it
more realistic.
I am going to be using an iPad in this opening scene
to show that I have signed for Everton. On the iPad
there will be a Sky Sports article which states that I
have signed for Everton. I will use an extra for this
scene to show them reading the article. I am going
to use an over the shoulder shot for this scene.

I will need to use a pen and paper for the scene in

the scene in which I sign for Everton. When a
footballer signs for a club he will be pictured signing
a contract so I intend to do this to make this scene
appear more realistic. This prop will only be used in
one shot. I will bring a sheet of paper and a pen to
Goodison Park with me for when this scene is
filmed. The sheet of paper will have writing on it in

Jamie will be seen holding up a FC Halifax Town
shirt in order to represent that he has just signed for
FC Halifax Town. When a footballer signs for a club
he is usually pictured holding up the shirt of the club
which he has signed for so this will make my
opening scene appear more realistic. This prop will
only be used once and that is in the early stages of
the opening scene.
I will be using a panoramic shot of a trophy cabinet
to display that the young athlete is becoming
successful. There will be no actors in this scene.
This prop will only be seen once and that is at the
beginning of the opening scene.

Moore Lane

Description
I am going to be using a backgarden to show
Finbarr playing football there. I am going to record
this scene in the middle of the day as there is no
lights so I will be unable to record this at night as the
camera would be unable to see Finbarr playing
football because of the lighting. The advantages of
this location are that it is easy to gain accsess to as
it is my cousins house and it is also quite big. There
are also some goalposts at this location so this
helps to show that the opening scene is football
related.
I am going to be using Moore Lane in order to
display Jamie playing Sunday league football. I am
going to film this scene in the middle of the day as
that is the time in which Jamie plays football. There
is also not a proper lighting system so I would be
unable to film this scene at night. This location is
very easy to gain access to as it is open to the
public. However, if another team is playing a game
at this location we will be unable to record here so
we will habve to wait for the game to finish and film.

To completely avoid this from happening I am going

to check the fixtures which are taking place at this
venue and make sure that we do not record whilst a
game is taking place.
I am going to film outside The Shay Stadium to
show Jamie signing for FC Halifax Town. I am going
to record this scene during the day as there would
be an issue with recording this at night due to the
lighting. The advantages of using this location are
that it will be realistic and it is quite close to where I
live so I will not have to travel very far in order to
use this location. However, I do not have access to
this inside of this location so it is not as realistic as it
could be.
I am going to be using Goodison Park to represent
myself signing for Everton. I am unsure when I will
film this as I do not know when I am next going to an
Everton game so it will either be filmed on a
Saturday or Sunday afternoon or on a Monday
night. The advantages of using this location are that
it is an extremely well-known venue by football fans
around the world and I am able to use this location
due to my dad working for Everton. However, I may
be unable to film some scenes as it may be off limits
such a sthe boardroom or the pitch. I will be unable
to film on the pitch at Goodison Park as a match will
be taking place so I will have to use a different
venue for a later scene.
I am going to be using the 3G pitch at Trinity
Academy Halifax to represent myself playing football
for Everton on this pitch. This location will be
extremely easy to gain access to as it is a part of the
sixth form which I attend so I will be allowed to use
this location. I will film this scene during the school
day as it may be closed at night. Another advantage
of this location is that it is an artificial 3G surface
which are often used by some professional teams
so this will be very realistic. One problem that could
arise is that a PE lesson could be taking place on
the 3G pitch when I film so I may have to book a
time to film on this to avoid this from happening.
I am going to film one scene in the Everton
boardroom. This location will be used for when I am
signing for Everton. Whenever a footballer has
signed for Everton they are normally pictured in the
boardroom signing a contract for the club so in order
to make this opening scene appear more realistic I
shall be seen signing a contract in this room. One
problem that could potentially occur is that the
boardroom may be in use or we may not be able to
gain access to this location as it is quite exclusive so
I may not be allowed to film in this location.
