Single Vs Multi User

Single-user systems allow only one person to use the computer at a time, with only that user able to access files on the hard disk. Multi-user systems, on the other hand, allow multiple people to use the computer simultaneously by connecting multiple PCs or terminals to a server, with all users having access to shared hard disk contents. Examples of single-user operating systems include DOS, Windows 3x, and Windows 95/97/98, while Linux is a multi-user operating system that can support more than one user at a time.
