    Important News:
    Geometry: We are beginning to learn about geometry, which comes with a lot of new
    vocabulary. To help out, we are making geometry word books. Ask your child if they can
    tell you what a polygon or a quadrilateral is.
    Math Wall Goals: The next time you are at school, check out our new math wall goals.
    They are posted in the hallway in front of the cafeteria. When your child makes their first
    goal, they get a flower with their name on it. Each time they make the next goal, they get
    a sticker to place on their flower.
    Goal 1:I can complete 48 even and odd problems in 3 minutes.
    Goal 2: I can complete 9 telling time to the nearest 5 minutes problems and 6 counting change
    problems in 3 minutes.
    Goal 3: I can complete 12 telling time and 6 counting change problems in 3 minutes
    Library books: This is the last week for library. If your child has any library books at
    home, please be sure to turn them in.
    Insect Discovery Visit: One of the U of A Entomology graduate students will be visiting
    our classrooms this week! They will be bringing live bugs for us to observe and learn
    about!

    Homework due on Monday, April 25th:


    **Please read for at least 15 minutes every night and record your time on the
    Reading Log
    **Practice spelling words by making Rainbow Words and write over each word
    with at least 4 colors or write each word in a complete sentence. Make sure
    sentences start with a capital letter and end with a period, question mark, or
    exclamation mark.
    **Complete the packet.
    Extra Credit: Find an example of a rectangle (like a table top), a triangle, a
    pentagon, hexagon, and an octagon in or around your house. Write the names
    of the examples and draw a picture of each. Be ready to share with the class!
