Now that you have the research, I want you to reflect on the first day of our study
related to this chapter. We spent an entire class discussing the topic of "diversity,"
which is the basis of our study of the Indian subcontinent. You also did some overview
research of "India" through Google Images as well. With that background in mind, I would
like you to create a detailed, well-organized mind map that demonstrates the diversity
of the state or union territory that you have chosen.
What is a graphic organizer?

A graphic organizer is basically an effective way of summarizing information. Think venn
diagram, information table, web diagram, etc.
THE CRITICAL QUESTION (you are answering this through the mind map):
What makes your state or union territory "diverse"?

You may wish to consider the following points in your mind map.
1. A definition of diversity (in your own words do NOT copy and paste from
anywhere).
2. The composition of the population do they all come from the same group? For
instance, think about all of the people who are now living in BC, but actually came
here from a different province.
3. Religious composition are there primarily Hindus, Muslims, Christians, etc. Or, is
there a general mix of people from different faiths.
4. Relationships (through organizations, government policies, traditions or cultures
that have been adopted, etc.) with other states and/or union territories.
5. The things that are unique to your state or union territory language, culture,
history, tourism, etc.
