Week 2 emerging insights

HIGHLY PRELIMINARY

Emerging insights

Good talent management processes

present in parts of Human Capital, not
consistently replicated elsewhere in central
office

Transportation and operations strategy use

of data to drive results (50% increase in
bus timeliness in just 3 months) can be
model for data driven culture at BPS

Frustration across ELL, Academics and

SPED about silos and lack of alignment for
student services

BPS has a facilities issue:

Annual funds are just 1/10 of estimated

Discussion questions:

Reactions or further perspective

on these points
Larger themes of data creation
and usage and technology are
underlying drivers of some of
these insights. Are there other,
broader themes that connect
these?

current deferred maintenance costs

Back of the envelope estimates of

needed renovation in the $3-$4B range
