V. Evaluation/Assessment:
Assessment of Objectives
The students will be observed during the Socratic seminar on their
newspapers.
VI. Procedures:
Introduction:
We will pull out the Socratic seminar newspaper worksheet from the
previous day as a review and basis for the days activities.
Teaching/Activities:
1 We will gather our desks in a circle and conduct a Socratic seminar
on the newspapers.
2 Students will have the chance to add information to their
worksheets.
3 After the seminar, students will begin writing their articles.
4 Students will work on the layout of the newspaper.
Closure:
We will do a quick review of the newspaper rubric.
Students will be told that their newspapers must be finished
during the class tomorrow in which they will present. The
presentations will be a good way to review material. They will
take the post-test on the unit at the end of the class.
