Infographic Explanation

Given the task at hand, an infographic pertaining to Shakespeares life is far from boring.
I based my infographic with a metaphor or a DNA molecule acting as a timeline for
Shakespeares life as a way to organize my thoughts about his life. At the very start of my
infographic I included facts about Shakespeares assumed birth, length of life, and symbols of a
child in an infant stage to accompany it. For the next step in my infographic (left side of the
DNA molecule) I started included facts that pertained to stages after his birth, to be specific I
incorporated facts about Shakespeares personal family (example: wifes name, age they married,
and his kids). In order to support that snippet of information, I also included visuals in the form
of a silhouette of a woman with two children (technically inaccurate because Shakespeare had
more than two kids).
Further down the helix I included information about the actual family that Shakespeare
originated from. Through the process of working on this project I discovered facts about
Shakespeares siblings, father, and mother which I also included on my infographic with the
company of eight babies symbolizing the number of children that the John Shakespeare bore
with his wife: Mary Shakespeare.
The next section of information that was part of my infographic was the part of my
infographic which included some of the statistics involved in his writing. Granted, there are
many facts that revolve around how Shakespeares writing used many new words, but I only
documented the facts that I thought really entered the core of Shakespeare on my infographic.
When demonstrating this section of facts titled Passing the Norms of a Writer I paired it with
an image of an old-fashioned pen along with a book in order to symbolize the types of tools that
Shakespeare used to write his masterpieces compared to our contemporary utensils of writing
(such as a computer).

Infographic: This infographic must quantify elements from the play and/or Shakespeares life. How
many times a word appears, numbers of things that do something, symbolism, data, performance history,
whatever you like. There must be at least 15 pieces of data illustrated in your infographic, and it must
also be accompanied by a 1-2 page analysis that describes the infographic and uses the correct rules of
Writing with Numeracy (see handout from last semester which is the same one you should have
downloaded from The Invention Convention.) The infographic must also include a Works Cited.
