Classroom Management Plan


Summary:
All students enrolled in the band program are expected show professionalism on
and off campus including their academic studies. As a member of the band you
are a walking billboard for the organization; regulate your conduct in a way
that represents the band positively. The following document outlines the
conduct, and standards in which all band students are expected to follow.
Conduct and Expectations in the Band Hall
All students enrolled in band should:

Be respectful and courteousness to yourself and others.


Respect and care for school and personal property.
Use school-appropriate language.
Bring all required materials, including music, instrument, pencils, etc.
Ask permission and possess a hall pass in order to leave the room during class,

allowing for extenuating circumstances. (Illness, injury, etc.)


Exits the classroom one student at a time with permission, allowing for
extenuating circumstances.
Arrive in a timely manner to rehearsals in class or otherwise, as well as
performances and other band functions.
Cell phone use is prohibited in class, rehearsal or performance, unless in case of
emergency.
Students shall also follow the conduct and guidelines set forth by the school
and the district found in the Student Code of Conduct Handbook.
Classroom Maintenance Expectations
The Band Hall is our home, all band students will follow campus policies in
order to maintain and uphold the condition and policies of the classroom:

Students may bring only water bottles that have twist on caps, and/or sealed
lunches into the band hall. There is no gum allowed in the band hall.
Students must pick up after themselves.
The band hall is to remain organized and neat.

Students will respect school property by treating music, music stands, chairs,
instruments, lockers, or any other school owned items with care.
Students will respect personal and student-owned property by handling these
items with care. Stealing, or otherwise harming personal property owned by
students, including instruments, is prohibited.
Students that are not a part of the band program are not allowed in the band hall
unless specified by another faculty or staff member.
Students will store personal belongings (purses, handbags, other valuables.) in
their personal LOCKED locker.
Students will place backpacks in the side of the room as designated.
All instrument cases are to be locked in the band lockers during rehearsal.
The by the pool rules apply in the band hall. Students will walk, and use
caution in the band hall, because we care about the safety of the student, and also
student and school-owned instruments can be very costly when damaged.
Rewards:
Students who comply with the Classroom Maintenance Expectations will be
able to participate in all band trips, pizza parties, and/or other fun band
functions!

Consequences:
Should students be in violation of the standards listed above, disciplinary
action may be taken from the following. *All disciplinary actions will coincide
school and district policy.*
Verbal warning.
Putting away instrument, students not allowed to participate.
In-school/After school detention.
Contacting Parents via Phone, or email.
Student-Teacher Conference.
Parent-Teacher Conference.
Referral to principal.
Membership privileges revoked.

*All disciplinary actions will be documented over time, and stored in students
individual files.
Actions that can result in Immediate Dismissal from the Band Program:
Intentional destruction of school or student property.

Use, possession, or dispersal of illegal substances during any band function.


Disrespect to directors, other faculty or staff, parents, or chaperones.
Involvement in fighting.
Refusal to comply with instructions given by directors, other faculty of staff,
parents, and/or chaperones.

By signing this document, I agree that I have read and understand the rules and
requirements of being a member in the band program. I hereby agree, by signing
this document, that I will comply with the rules and requirements laid out in this
plan.
