Flux Decline With Time:-: Cake - 1

The permeate flux declines over time for reverse osmosis according to the cake filtration model. The flux is inversely proportional to the square root of time plus the inverse of the initial flux, where the constant is based on membrane fouling resistance and specific cake resistance. Graphs of concentration versus time, membrane surface concentration versus time, and metal uptake by the membrane versus time can be obtained from the flux profile to analyze fouling and filtration performance.
