On the class map, the teacher will locate the 7
continents and show them to the teacher.

This video isnt long and it is a short and easy way for
kids to become familiar with this topic.

Modeling of the Concept


Student will be sitting on the floor when the teacher is
giving the step-by-step instruction on how to do the
activity.
Each student will be given a pumpkin. Already on the
pumpkin is the blue water painted on. On the orange
spots remaining, the students will paint in the
continents. Each continent will be a different color. They
will then label the continents with a black sharpie
marker. The last thing the students will have to do is
put a rubber band around the middle of the pumpkin.
This is will simulate the equator.
Guiding the Practice
The teacher will walk around the classroom at the
activity is being done. She will make sure everyone is
on task, see if they need help, and ask questions a long
the way.
