Instructional Strategies

This document outlines a lesson plan for a whole group reading and vocabulary lesson. The objectives are for students to recognize vocabulary words during a read aloud, find word definitions or matching words, and work in pairs to explain their assigned word through acting, drawing, examples, or sentences. Standards addressed include speaking clearly, engaging in collaborative discussions, and determining word meanings. The lesson involves introducing vocabulary words, doing a read aloud where students touch body parts for different word groups, a vocabulary matching game in small groups, and sharing projects created to explain assigned words.
