On 5/4/10, Bakersfield Police arrested Andre Jose Page 34, for the July 4, 2008
murder of Deandrey Thompson in the 200 block of Northrup Street. Investigators
have been working on the case since 2008 and in April, the Kern County District
Attorney’s Office filed charges against Page for murder and weapons charges
and a warrant was issued. Page has been in custody at Corcoran State Prison
for charges unrelated to the murder. Bakersfield Police investigators took
custody of Page at the prison and he was booked into the Kern County Jail.

Original Release

On 7-4-08 at 10:14 p.m., Bakersfield Police responded to the 200 block of


Northrup Street in response to a victim of a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered a male suffering a gunshot to his


abdomen. The victim, identified as, Deandrey Thompson (26), of Bakersfield
was taken to Kern Medical Center where he underwent surgery for his injury.
Thompson died the following morning.

Motive for the shooting could not be determined.
