Ms. Carolyn Dirienzo has been student teaching in my at risk kindergarten class. She
started in January and has been a great asset to my class.
Ms. Dirienzo is punctual, dresses professionally, interacts and works well with the other staff
member and is very comfortable with the children and parents.
Ms. Dirienzo came into class in January and was right at home. She immediately connected
with the students. Ms. Dirienzo began reading to the class, helping in workshops and
planning large group math activities. Ms. Dirienzo is very comfortable with the children and
they responded to her right away. Ms. Dirienzo has made connections with all of the children
and especially one of my more difficult students. He immediately felt comfortable with her
and she has made huge gains with him. He works for her when he will not always work for
me.
Ms. Dirienzo took over for the class (with a sub) for 3 days when I had to miss due to a
medical emergency with my husband. She knew exactly what to do and even stepped up and
made all the lesson plans for the following week.
Ms. Dirienzo has had experience with morning meetings, making a different morning
message each day, and she is very creative. She has been teaching Reading Mastery,
managing and creating Daily 5 activities, teaching our whole group math, New York Math,
managing and creating math stations, science, art and centers.
Ms. Dirienzo is an amazing teacher. She is always prepared and transitions between activities
easily. Ms. Dirienzo will be a great asset to any school and I would be honored to teach with
her.
Please contact me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
