In her first week of practicum, the student observed her mentor teacher use several effective strategies with her students. The teacher had the students put their bags away to allow for movement, played a song to energize them, explained the lesson and gave stars as rewards. She also included a creative activity that engaged the students and encouraged cooperation. The student notes that these strategies organized the class, increased student interaction with the teacher, and motivated the students to do their best. She recognizes the value of play from Vygotsky's theories.

At the end of my first week in the TP, I felt enjoyable and fun with my students. I
learned from my MST some strategies that she did with the students, at the being
of class she told them to put his bag on the back because she wants to move around
the class. Then she played with them a song to become active. After that, she
explained her lesson and gave them a star if they did something good such as
answered and nice handwriting. Also, she made for them a creative activity and
play with them that make them love the lesson and also cooperate with other. As
Vygotsky said the play is essential for social, emotional with child. These
strategies were good that organized the class, the students
interacting with the teacher more and encourage students
to
do best. Some strategies I saw before and it good for
students.
