Introduction:
Internet Banking System refers to systems that enable bank
customers to Access accounts and general Information on bank
products and services through a personal computer or other
intelligent device. The chances and threats that the internet
symbolizes is no longer news to the present day banking
sector. No traditional bank would dare face investment analysts
without an Internet strategy. The main intention behind the
commencement of electronic banking services is to provide the
customers with an alternative that is more responsive and with
less expensive options. With options just a click away,
customers have more control than ever. Their expectations are
usability and real-time answers. They also want personal
attention and highly customized products and services .

1.1Scope
The scope of this project is limited to the activities of the
operations unit of the banking system which includes opening
of Account, Deposit of funds, Electronic funds transfer, Cheque
balance and Monthly statement.

Definitions, Acronyms, and Abbreviations:

HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language): It is used to create static web pages.
JSP (Java Server Pages): It is used to create dynamic web content.
J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition): It is a programming platform, belonging to the Java platform,
which is used for developing and running distributed java application.
MYSQL (Database 2): It is a database management system that provides a flexible and efficient
database platform to raise a strong "on demand" business applications.
HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol): It is a transaction oriented client/ server protocol between a
web browser and a web server.
XML (Extensible Markup Language): It is a markup language that was designed to transport and store
data.
Ajax (Asynchronous Java Script and XML): It is a technique used in java script to create dynamic
web pages.
Web 2.0: It is commonly associated with web applications which facilitate interactive information
sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web.
