creating a book off the application called Book Creator. Your book will
be about managed materials and natural materials you see in the
environment around you.

5. The teacher will then brain storm with the children what a managed
material is and a natural material
6. The teacher will write up on the smart board or whiteboard the
childrens answers

creating their book on the app.

natural materials that the teacher has taken using her ipad.
3. The teacher will then give a demonstration of how to import images
from your ipad onto book creator
4. Teacher will show how simple it is to move the images around the

5. Teacher will then show how to add text to move around, change font
and colour

6. Teacher will then ask for a volunteer to come up to the front and read


out the definition of natural materials
7. As the student is reading out this definition the teacher will explain

so far on the smart board.

and managed environment using book creator
11. Once students have had sufficient time to take as many photos of the
two types of materials the students will then be spaced around the
area some outside some inside with teacher and teacher assistants
supervision
12. They will then have time to complete importing of images, text of
information as well as voice overs they would like to add.

13. Students are encouraged to also use drawing desk as another app to
add to their book creator where they can draw other materials and
add into their book creator.
14. The teacher will be floating around observing and taking down
anecdotal notes of the students progression as well as assisting any
students that need further assistance the teacher assistant will also
be floating around observing the lesson outcomes as well as assisting
students in their book creations.

Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)


1. Students will then save their work and all sit back down on the mat
with their groups and their ipads facing down on the floor
2. The groups of students will then be selected one at a time to come up
and share with the class their book creator on the smart board

1. Students will hand ipads back into to teacher and teacher assistant
and sit quietly back at their desks waiting the next instructions

2. Teacher will have anecdotal notes to use as informal assessment
3. Teacher will create a chart of the objectives and the students names
stating whether they have achieved the outcomes and any added
comments the teacher finds necessary to add.
