Purpose: SGA Coalition
Im Kelsey weaver; purpose
Student body president
Cidney coppock, district 4 senate seat
Running on the same coalition; we have treasurer abby kinnard
Student trustee Ronald Elliot; 7 other senators other than cidney
Weve all served in sga even if thats just as a student.SGA loses sights of original
purpose which is to put the students first: Goal is to get back to our purpose
Platform:
Taking the spotlight away from diversity and taling about inclusion and acceptancey
Not enough to have diversity. We need to have people with diverse perspectives
Another primary goal is to partner with student orgs by collaboration
Cidney: another goal is bridging hthe gap between administration and students,
improving the process and gathering information from students; were thankful for having
Brandon May and Drew Keil, members of IFC fraternities on the coalition.

Basically our coalition includes increasing the inclusion
Increasing the size of SGA to allow student org leaders to be in sga. Currently its too
hard to be a member. We want ot cut a committee meeting out to get sutdents involved
in SGA; desperately needed representation

Advisory Council; open up a dialogue between students and SGA.

Focusing on Communication; extreme overhaul of social media putting significance in
representation and transparency
Collaboration with admin, orgs, CAB, etc.

Questions
LXA: Future Development?
Tabling; students are taking a survey and we are trying to figure out what we are doing
with it. Initial idea was something like low ropes, volleyball courts, disc golf, etc. If theres
a table up, stop by and put your input in. It has to be something that goes in the little
spot
LXA: Indoor facility?
In the original ideas, but it doesnt make sense with us for the current design or feasible
money wise: If its raining, were still gonna play that night because the ground is turf.
Even though nothing is covered, were still gonna get a lot of play dates in.
Full size fields for club sports, flag football fields, etc.
Thee are lines that wont be permanent.
SX: Caesar Wood has done a good job of getting student input in design and even
more. What are they doing with Engel?

Answer: we have to go back and put the money back in to it. Update the seats; make
sure everything is up to code. Right now there will be a museum. The city wants to put it
in and it wont be our dollar. We got the go ahead to renovate engel, and it was a big
bargaining-ship what well do is that were gonna have brick columns that match engel
for the center. Were projected with an 8-10 million dollar budget. We wont make it look
cheap with fencing on it.
Also, Softball fields; dont dring in the parking lot. Its under their own security. Its
the city of Chattanooga police to them. They turned the opening individual in. he was
not a fraternity member.

Geoffrey Wilcox:
At football games, when someone asks you where you go for football games, we never
had an area to go. Too family oriented; old people. Too hospitality oriented of an area.
Weve been working on this for over two years; chesnut st. is going to be closed. Do we
tailgate there? What do we do? We need that element to draw people there. Ideas:
Concert? Tailgating Spots?
Phi Delt: How long is the area blocked off?
Half of the st. has to be kept open, but theres about 12-15 light poles, and theyre every
16 ft. Student only entrance at the scoreboard.
SX: Each week have a different thing, i.e. paint party, dj, concert at different times.
People dont tailgate because they dont have as many people.
You tell us what to do; maybe make a greek week, etc. Whatever we call this could be
thrown by this organization. Music, food, giveaways.
Natural Tailgating and something off to the side as well:
Phi Delt: Reservation system?
Yes, itll be similar to how we have the pavilion. Here are the times for everything.
Theres a protocol. We would give you spot, etc.
Schlangen: Bus schedule?
Smallbus, but they pick up at STC and JO
Schlangen: Ever thought about doing a clean tailgate in Heritage?
Answer: Thats a good spot, thats a good idea. Weve only been to places where theres
a lot of students living there. A lot of foot traffic.
LXA: People like watching their own games.
Danny: Did you say the street opens back up at kickoff?
Ans. They will open the door under the scoreboard. They will try to close the party a little
before the game starts. Different parking lots available: for people, etc.

Phi Delt: I think it would be cool to have sort of an orgfest

Ans. Getting student athletes engaged and involved would help with people coming,
especially getting our winter sports out there.
Do you care DJ vs. Band?
DJ. Consensus
The highlighted street will have a wing cook-off for the spring games.
First ten orgs to sign up, hes gonna give out 30 wings to cook.
