Jackson Mathew-Statement of Purpose

Jackson Mathew has had an interest in science, technology, and machinery since childhood. He pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his engineering studies, he gained technical knowledge and skills in various areas like production, manufacturing, and design. He also led several school competitions and events. Based on conversations with engineers and managers who recognized his hard work and leadership abilities, Jackson chose to pursue an MBA in Operations. He was attracted to Amrita School of Business's dual degree program with the University at Buffalo that allows him to earn an MBA and MS. His goal is to become an operations manager for innovative companies and eventually start his own industry in India to support scientific research.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (SOP)

Right from my childhood I had a keen interest in Science & Technology with a
fascination towards the technological aspects of machineries. This was the driving
force which made me pursue Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering as my under
graduation degree. I have passion for the Leadership and Management field. Apart
from that Im eager about dance, music, travelling, reading, drawing etc. I always
give my maximum effort and perform to the best of my abilities for every work
assigned to me.
During my Engineering life, I wanted to be a great personality among Mechanical
engineers having technical knowledge in every stream of a company like
production, manufacturing, designing etc. For that I have studied various designing
softwares like Pro-E/CREO, AutoCAD, CATIA- v5 and also have basic
knowledge in analyzing software like ANSYS.I got an opportunity to lead various
fests and competitions during my tenure in Under graduation course and I got a
chance to meet and talk with great personalities who came as chief guests on
competitions. During my conversations about pursuing Masters, by seeing my
hard working nature, leadership quality, honesty, most of them suggested me to do
MBA. In my implant training session in Kakkad Hydroelectric Power Plant,
Kerala, India the engineers and managers working there suggest me the same.
These are among the reasons which make me choose for MBA in Operations. In
between I got to know about Amrita School Of Business, Bangalore [ASB]
through internet & friends which offering students a dual degree program in MBAMS.ASB tie-up with University at Buffalo[SUNY BUFFALO],New York ,USA
attracted me a lot to opt the same.
My goal is to become an Operations Manager who is wanted by every company
and to become a manager with traits like hard working and problem solving
capability. After I make enough experience I will try to bring a new industry in
India for supporting scientific research and engineering. To create innovative
technologies I would need appropriate problem solving approach & a competitive
environment. My area of interest is in operations; however I look forward to

gaining basics in Business Analytics & Systems during my MS. I have a true hope
that earning my MS from SUNY BUFFALO would help me to brush-up my skills
to make create & innovate things in the forth-coming future.
