Difference Between Method Overloading and Method Overriding in Java

Method overloading and overriding in Java are different. Method overloading occurs within a class and allows methods to have the same name but different parameters. It is an example of compile-time polymorphism. Method overriding occurs between superclasses and subclasses, where the subclass provides its own implementation of a method in the parent class. The parameters must be the same but the return type can be the same or a subtype. It is an example of run-time polymorphism. Examples of each are provided.
