They will then scan QR codes around the room to take notes on plant and animal cells, which they will copy into a foldable. Finally, students will draw and label a plant and animal cell, following a rubric. The teacher will circulate to check understanding throughout the lesson.

Guided Practice & Checking for Understanding
Independent Practice
There is no prescribed order to this section; you must tailor the order to the students and the content. This should be the
longest portion of your lesson plan.

Teacher will:
Distribute Ipads to the class and
tell them to get into their six o
clock pairs. Once they get into
their six o clock pairs I will
explain what we are doing. They
are to use the Ipads to go to
Brainpop.com and look up the
cells brain pop. The username is
Rockingam and password is Fenn.
Then with their partner they will
complete the Brain Pop
worksheet. During this time I will
walk around to make sure that
they are all on the same page
and that they are on task.
I will tell them that once they
have completed their Brain Pop
then they need to take their
Ipads and scan the QR codes
around the room and take down
the notes into their foldable. I will
walk around to make sure that
they do not have any questions
and to make sure that they are
on task. I will make sure to tell
them that only one partner needs
to be up at one time.
Once they have their notes
complete I will have them get out
their plant and animal cell

Students will:

Get into their six o clock pairs

and then go to BrainPop.com
and do the cells worksheet
quietly with their partners.

Walk around the room with their

Ipads and scan the QR codes
and bring the notes back to their
partner at the table. Then copy
them into their foldables. They
will not be talking during this.

drawings. I will explain to them

the rubric on the back and then I
will tell them that this needs to
be done neat and organized. The
cells need to be colored and all
cell parts labeled on a straight
line not sideways and hard to
read. I will emphasize that they
need to take their time and do
this nice and neat. During this
time I will walk around and make
sure everyone is working.

Draw plant and animal cells very

neat and organized by following
the rubric on the back page.
They will not be talking during
this time.

those in to me by tomorrow.
