Spanish Level 2: Lesson Plan I. Preliminary Information

students, 3 brand new students who did not have Spanish last year.
2. Materials and Resources Needed: QQT cards (note cards), fly swatter, Chromebooks,
vocabulary list, writing utensils / paper.
3. Goals and Learning Objectives associated with the content standards:
Students will be able to review school vocabulary. Students will be able to talk about what they
have to do at school.
Content standards:ACTFL: Standard 1.2: Students understand and interpret written and spoken
language on a variety of topics. Standard 1.3: Students present information, concepts, and ideas
to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics. ISBE: 28.D.1a Copy/write words,
phrases and simple sentences.

II. Lesson Activities and Procedures

Preparation / Warm-up Activity

Students will answer 3 questions from the vocabulary words they practiced yesterday. I will
call on 3 students to answer.
(5 minutes)

Presentation /Practice (Lesson Activities, normally 2-6 activities)


1. Quiz-quiz- trade: Students will do a vocabulary review activity called Quiz-QuizTrade using cards they created they will review new vocabulary and it will prep them for
the next activity. Students have cards with questions and answers on them, students go
around the room practicing and quizzing each other together. (5 minutes)

Fly Swatter: Then we will do a vocabulary practice
game called Fly Swatter. Students will come up and test their knowledge of vocabulary
in this interactive game. Students go against one another, I say a vocabulary word and
they need to know the word I say first by tapping the picture that represents that word,
(5-8 minutes).

Digital Flash Cards: students will work in pairs to

complete a digital flash card. The digital flash card will be created in Google Slides. This
was shared with students via Google Classroom. All students have access to the same
file and will edit that file. On the flash card they will need to write a sentence in Spanish,
include a picture of the activity and the definition including transitions. Students will
present these the following day.

Informal assessments: Warm up, and fly swatter
Formal: completion of digital flash card

Preparation / Warm-up Activity

No warm up. Students will have time to work on their digital flash card presentations
(5 minutes)

Presentation /Practice (Lesson Activities, normally 2-6 activities)


1. Students will present their digital flash card presentation in front of the class.
Students will guess the definition of the others word, as well as the meaning of their
sentence. (5+ minutes)

Fly Swatter: Then we will do a vocabulary practice
game called Fly Swatter. Students will come up and test their knowledge of vocabulary
in this interactive game. Students go against one another, I say a vocabulary word and
they need to know the word I say first by tapping the picture that represents that word,
(5-8 minutes).

3. White board runs: Another activity to quiz students, I assign each of the students a
number (one other person has the same number), I will say a vocabulary word or phrase
and then call a number and have the students whose number I called race up to the board
to write the most correct answer in a timely fashion.
