Modified Density and Thermohaline Circulation Lab

This document provides instructions and questions for a lab experiment on the density of seawater and thermohaline circulation. It explores how temperature and salinity affect the density of seawater through a series of experiments mixing hot/cold water and fresh/saltwater. Students observe that cold and saltwater are denser, causing them to sink below warm and freshwater. The document explains that global ocean circulation is driven by differences in water density due to temperature and salinity variations, known as thermohaline circulation.
