Structural Analysis 45-136: Instructor: Hassan Haddadpour
Structural Analysis 45-136: Instructor: Hassan Haddadpour
Description:
This course will address issues related to aerospace structural analysis under different
loadings.
Course Objectives
This course is designed to familiarize the students with the airframe structural
analysis. After a review of some topics in strength of materials, the students will learn
some new topics such as energy methods and matrix methods in structural analysis. In
the main part of the course the students will be familiarized with the airframe
structures and will learn how to analyze thin-walled structures under different loads.
Syllabus
Introduction
Stress
Equations of equilibrium
Principal stresses
Strain
Compatibility equations
Principal strains
Stressstrain relationships
Experimental measurement of surface strains
Fuselage
Wing
Frame and rib
Course outcome
Some of the immediate outcomes of this course for students taking it will be:
1. Familiarity with the basics of elasticity
2. Familiarity with the structural elements of an airplane
3. Understanding the basics of aircraft structural analysis
