NWEA MAP Testing : On October 1-6
students will take a formative assessment
to guide instruction and serve as a baseline for measuring academic growth. Each
grade will test on a separate day. Testing
will last 23 hours for each student and
is computer based. The test is responsive
to student answers and adjusts to best
measure present student ability.
EXCUSED ABSENCES: Please remember
that students who have over ten unexcused absences for the semester lose
credit in their class(es). Saturdays count
as regular school days. Please provide the
main office all doctors notes or other
documentation which can excuse an absence. All parents/guardians should call
the school to report a student absent.
DISMISSAL OF STUDENTS: No student may be dismissed from the school
without a written note signed by the
parent/guardian. We do not accept phone
call requests to dismiss students. We
apologize for any inconvenience, however
this is for the safety of the children.
Please update you childs emergency
forms with names of individuals who can
pick up your student.

HOMEWORK CENTER: A supervised, afterschool homework center is available for the

students every week Monday Wednesday. A
free late bus will take the students home at
5:00 pm. Other students, staying after school
in supervised activities, may also use the bus.
Any student who stays late must sign up for
the after-school activity prior to fourth block
APPLICATIONS : We are accepting applications for next years lottery. Please refer your
friends and family to the school. Dont forget
that siblings of students are automatically accepted to the school only if their application is
received by the deadline. All applications must
be received by December 19, 2014.
GOOGLE ENVIRONMENT: Our teachers are
requiring students to complete some assignments using Google applications such as
Google Docs. These platforms can be used on
any device that has Internet accesseven cell
phones. Assignments are then shared with
their teachers who can provide immediate
feedback. This is great preparation for college
where students use these types of platforms
regularly.
CELL PHONES: School staff are aware that
cell phones have become an extension of our
students. We know that because of responsibilities they have, whether it be for work or for
home, the students may need access to their
phones. At times phones may even be used in
class as an learning tool. However, what is not
acceptable is for the phones to become an obstacle to learning. Electronic devices cannot
become such a distraction that students loose
focus on instruction. We appreciate your cooperation as we strive to teach our students how
to keep learning a priority while controlling the
use of electronics in school.
LUNCH FORMS: If you have not received a
letter stating your students lunch status you
