1. Students are to choose a historical photographer, select one of their photographs, and recreate it as closely as possible, considering lighting, composition, and details. 2. Once recreated, students may edit their photograph in black and white or adjust contrast/color using photo software. 3. EXPLORATIVE PROJECT | HISTORICAL PHOTOGRAPH

PROCEDURE:
1. CHOOSE A PHOTOGRAPHER from the lists found on our class website to
mimic, then select one of the photographers photographs.
2. RECREATE: Set up a photograph as close to the original photograph as
possible. Consider the lighting, the way the composition is framed and
details like costumes.
3. EDIT: Once the photograph is taken and you are happy with the composition
then you may need to do a little editing (turn the image to black and white,
increase contrast, or adjust color). Editing can be done through camera
software like Photoshop or the free photo correction program Pixlr.
4. UPLOAD to Blackboard: your picture, a picture of the original photograph
and a short description about your photograph.
a. Description should include:
i. The name of the artist you are mimicking, the title of the
photograph, date it was created and if the image is part of a
series- the series name.
ii. 2-3 sentences about how you created your image
