Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
In my classroom I use knowledge of student development to make learning experiences in different content areas
meaningful and accessible for every student. This artifact specifically looks into the content area of math. In my
classroom I have a math area that includes many different manipulatives, books, flashcards, and posters to help enhance
student learning. I use these different strategies and resources to help students learn in more than one way.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better)
Using these resources, along with math websites, allows students to have a different learning environment than
worksheets. Students are learning a math concept and skill through hand-on activities. These resources help make the
skill more concrete than abstract to my student. The math area of my room includes flashcards of addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division, posters of important key words in the 4 operations, fraction pieces, math books, clocks,
money, cards, rulers, and games. These resources are very helpful to all students because it enhances their learning
experience by making it more meaningful.
