Matrix

This document outlines how an educator would use various technologies and instructional strategies to teach different subject areas based on relevant standards. For each subject area, brief lesson plans are provided that utilize tools like e-portfolios, Storybird, Prezi, and research to engage students. Reflections note that the e-portfolio meets technology standards while providing an interactive way for students to showcase learning over time. Storybird is highlighted as a versatile tool that can be used across subjects in fun and assessable ways, such as creating an original book in groups.

I would have my
students create a
game (jeopardy) on
their portfolio, and
then have them in
groups in class and
have them play it
with their
classmates. I would
need to include all
of the terms from
our current chapter
of focus, and have
scenarios that they
make up or use
from the book so
that they can recap
what they know
before a test.

I would have my
students create a
story using shapes. I
would have them
incorporate all of the
shapes that we
covered in this unit. I
would also have them
present their story
about their shape to
the class.

I would have the

students pick a

to work with and have
them come up with
their own story to go
with the pictures. I
would then have them
share in small groups
and do revisions. For
their final I would
create a poetry
convention. So I would
have the class room
set up as a caf, and
have them share in
class and have a tea
and snacks.
I would have the
students pick an
animal to do
research on. Have
them write a short
paper on their
animal, have them
find two videos, and
upload pictures onto
their portfolio page
for English. I Then I
would let the
students give there
report to the class
using the page they
created.

I would have my

history that they are
interested in. Have
them do a little
research on the time

story of that time
period through
storybird.

2. Geography

I would have each

Reflections:
E-portfolio: I chose to do the ISET standards for my e-portfolio, because they standards are all technology standards. The e-portfolio meets all
of the technology standards and I think it is a funny and interactive way to get kids more involved and learning more about the things that are being
taught. I love the idea of having a working portfolio throughout the year. I think it will be a great tool for teachers to learn and see how there students
are learning from year to year. I think there are a lot of really cool things that we can do with the portfolio and it will help the students keep their
creativity.
For my Storybird matrix I came up with a mini lesson plan and activities for each subject. Storybird can be used in every
subject and would be a great way to keep the kids involved, and stay focused on what is being taught. It is also a fun way for me
to assess the students instead of having a test. Storybird is so versatile and is a fun way to see what classmates are doing too. I
also think it would be fun for the kids to get into groups and make up a story and draw the images onto a piece of paper and
share their original book. I think this will be a great tool to be using as a teacher.
