Document Type

As part of the class project for MEEN 653, I am preparing a literature review
on the "Hydrodynamic and Material properties of the dolphin skin". I am currently
involved in a research project which involves the design of an underwater hull with
properties mimicking that of the dolphin skin. Moving forward, I first have to
investigate the drag reduction capabilities of the dolphin skin so as to come up with
an optimized structure possessing the shape and material properties similar to the
creature. Therefore, a comprehensive literature review of any previous work on
this subject is of utmost importance to the research.

Work
To begin with, I have started collecting literature on the subject and I am
currently in the process of sorting and categorizing the document according to their
relevance. Once I have the required number of papers, I will then begin the review
process; which would take about three weeks, after which intend to proceed with
the completion of the manuscript. However, I realize the I would have to start
writing the manuscript as I conduct the review process. I have already located a
few important papers. For example, some of the work was done on this area by
Guaus et al., whose paper I am currently reading .

Document Preparation
I will begin with the proposal for the manuscript by tomorrow, during which
I will have finished reading 5-6 papers on the topic. By next week, I will start
writing the introduction for the paper while conducting the review. Once I
complete a 0significant portion of the review process, I will draw up the
framework for the report in accordance with the proposal. This is the status of the
project as of today.
