The Robbery

Cast:

teacher

school children

Scene 1:

robbers

police

In the classroom.

If performed on a stage, have a chair for the teacher, children can sit on the floor or have
some chairs in a row facing the audience. The children are sat on the floor or at their

desks. A child enters running


Child:
The teacher is coming, the teacher is coming.
The teacher (Played by a child) enters
Teacher:

Good morning everyone, I am the new teacher. How are you?

Children:

Fine thank you, and you?

Child (desperately puts their hand up):

Can I go to the toilet?

Teacher:
No
Child (desperately puts their hand up):

Can I go to the toilet?

Teacher:
No
Child (desperately puts their hand up):

Can I go to the toilet?

Teacher:

No (angrily jumping up and down)

The Children takes turns to put their hands up and ask the teacher a question.
These can be whatever the children know how to say How old are you? What is
your favourite . ? Can you ..? Have you got .?
The school bell:

ding- a - ling - a- ling.

Children:
Hoorah!
Children exit running

Scene 2
Robbers enter (Pink Panther music?) on tiptoes in a line. They cross the class then
the first one stops and the next one bumps into the first etc. Then then robbers
make a line facing the audience.
Robbers:
Hello everyone. We are strong, we are clever, we are bad. We are
robbers!
The robbers go round the class pointing to objects.
Robber 1:
Whats this?
Robber 2:

Its a pen?

Robber 3:

Whats this?

Robber 4:

Its a chair.

Robber 5:

Whats this?

Robber 6:

Its a bin etc.

Robber: 1:

Whats this?

Robber 2:

Its a bag.

Robber 1:
A bag! Take the bags.
The robbers pick up the bags and move towards the door. They are about to exit
when a robber sees the children (offstage)
Robbers:
Oh no, the children.
The robbers hide behind the chairs, or in the corner.Children enter and notice the
bags have gone
Children:

Where are the bags? Where are the bags?

Child:
Call the police!
A child calls the police.
Child:
Police, come quickly. There are robbers in (name of school).
Sound of police siren off stage. The police arrive, running. The run into the class
and stop
Police:

Dont panic. Dont panic! We are the police. We are strong, we


are clever, we are .. the super police. What is the problem?

Children:
There are robbers.
They all start looking for the robbers.
Robber:

Atchoo!

Children:

Whats that?

Police:

I dont know.

Robber:

Atchoo!

Children:

Whats that?

Police:

I dont know.

A robber stands up then sneezes.


Robber:

Atchoo!

Children:

Look! Its the robbers!

The children and police chase the robbers. Everyone runs in a circle 3 times until a
robber says Hands up!
Robber:

Hands up!

The children and police move to the side


Children, Police: Oh no!
Robbers:

You cannot stop us. We are strong, we are clever, we are bad. We

are robbers!
A policeman:
Look! Whats that?
The robbers all turn around to look, and the police jump on them and take away
their guns.
Everyone:
Children:
Police:

Hooray, hooray!
Thank you policemen.
Youre welcome

Robbers:

Sorry.

Everyone lines up facing the audience
