This document discusses anthropometry and is presented by group 1. It defines anthropometry as the measurement of humans and the comparative study of body measurements according to factors like sex and age. The introduction explains that anthropometry deals with measurements of body dimensions, volume, center of gravity, and masses of body segments. Examples of structures measured are sitting height, shoulder width, thigh length, and neck circumference. The conclusion states that anthropometry is used to determine body dimensions, define populations for facilities, and determine design principles based on data about a population's measurements.

INTRODUCTION
What is Anthropometry?
Greek
Anthro-: man
-pometry: measurements
The Literal meaning of Anthropometry is
measurement of humans
Anthropometry is the comparative study of
human body settlements and properties
The study of measurements or proportions of the
human body according to sex, age, etc. for
identification purposes & understanding human
physical variation.

Anthropometry deals with the measurements

of the dimensions and other physical
characteristics of the body such as volume,
centre of gravity, inertial properties and
masses of body segments
Examples of STRUCTURE
sitting height/standing height
shoulder width/hip width
thigh length/leg length
Neck length/neck
circumference.

CONCLUSION

To determine the body dimensions.

To define population to use facility (children,
women, age, etc.)
To determine what principle to be applied.
To Use Anthropometric data to the
population.
Through this project we were able to
understand the importance of measurement
of human individual and were able to study
them.
