Week 20
Another week has come and gone! This week our Super Heroes were Michael and Joseph. Michael shared Ill love you Forever and Joseph read Spilled Milk.
On Monday we celebrated the Q and U wedding!!!! It was a
blissful event and the happy couple are currently honeymooning in Phonics Arizona! The students had a wonderful time and were so wonderfully behaved! Way to go!!! We also celebrated Groundhogs Day on Tuesday! We learned that Wiarton Willy saw his shadow, which means 6 more weeks of winter. The children think maybe he wasnt feeling well since the weather has been so beautiful. Language: This week we revisited the letters Cc and Dd. The SKs have been practicing popcorn words using bubble graphs. The entire class enjoys using our white boards to practice printing our sight words. We continue to use Heidi songs to reinforce the spelling of these words with song and dance. Phys. Ed: This week we have begun our gymnastics unit! This is normally a class-wide favourite gym experience. We focused on the safety rules of gymnastics and then practiced how to properly move our bodies on the various pieces of equipment. We also discussed proper and safe landings.
Art: We enjoyed cotton ball painting as part of a Valentine craft.
Students also used their creativity in creating 3-D structures for a math lesson. Math: This week students enjoyed creating a structure using 3-D shapes. They came up with some very inventive objects! We look forward to seeing students at-home creations! Science: Students enjoyed looking at their own shadows outside. We learned about Wiarton Willy and the story behind Groundhog Day. They also enjoyed building their 3-D structures. Religion: Students each took turns saying something kind about another student. We will display these comments throughout the school as part of a school council initiative. Important Dates: Feb 9- Shrove Tuesday Feb 10- Ash Wednesday Feb 11 100th Day of School Celebration Feb 12- Valentine Party
