Experiment 3: First Order Low Pass Filter and High Pass Filter

This document describes an experiment to design and analyze first order low pass and high pass filters. For the low pass filter, the aim is to design a filter with a cutoff frequency of 1 kHz and a pass band gain of 2. Component values are calculated and the circuit is built and tested by varying the input frequency and measuring the output voltage. The same procedure is followed for a high pass filter with a cutoff of 2 kHz and pass band gain of 4. Output voltage measurements are recorded in tables and gain versus frequency plots are made to determine the roll-off rates of the filters.
