Intro FPC 10

This document outlines the course content and expectations for a grade 10 mathematics class called Fondements et Pre-Calcul 10. The course will cover topics like measurement, polynomials, functions, trigonometry, radicals, and systems of equations over two semesters. Students will be evaluated based on quizzes, tests, classwork, homework, a midterm exam, and a final evaluation. The teacher's expectations are that students will respect others, arrive on time with required materials, only use cell phones when permitted, complete homework daily, and take responsibility for catching up if absent.

Expectations:
Respect other students, materials and the teacher.
Be on time and bring all necessary materials including your calculator.
Cell phones CANNOT be used as calculators however digital devices can and will be used
in the classroom. When used wisely they can enhance a students learning. I ask that
they be turned off when I am explaining a concept or generally addressing the class.
Texting and phone calls are distracting, please text and call in between classes.
Homework has to be completed every day. It will be checked randomly. Completed
homework receives a grade of 2; homework not done gets a zero; incomplete gets a 1.
A note to parents/guardians: If you need to contact your son/ daughter please do not text
them in class (it is very distracting for everyone), but call the office and they will pass the
message on.
If you are absent you are responsible for catching up on missed work, tests and quizzes.
Tutorials and Homework are available daily at http://www.fhcollins.ca/homework.html
Students and parents/guardians can have access online to the students mark. Please
provide email contact and I will send you an invitation to join the Engrade site at
