Smart Fridge Synopsis

This project aims to create a smart fridge that tracks inventory and alerts users when items are expired or missing. A microcontroller is integrated with an RFID reader, 7-segment display, and GSM module. RFID tags on groceries are scanned to track expiration dates and missing items in a database. When items expire or go missing, alerts are displayed on the fridge and sent via text message. The team members are assigned roles like coding the microcontroller, assembling hardware, and coding the various components.

TITLE: SMART FRIDGE

OBJECTIVE
This project aims at creating a user-friendly refrigerator
essentially a smart fridge. The basic idea is to design a
hardware that is assembled along with a display and a gsm
module.
It helps the users keep track of their daily groceries and avoid
the hassle of going through every item and replacing them.

ABSTRACT
This project deals with a hardware interface that integrates a
microcontroller with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)
module and a 7 segment display unit. The system also consists
of a GSM module. The hardware is fixed inside a fridge in order
to provide an interface between the fridge and the outside
world.
RFID tags are pre-programmed with information that helps
identify the expiry period of the product. The RFID reader scans
the tag for information and stores it in a database. The
database is checked to determine the missing products in the
fridge. When the expiry period of a product has elapsed or an
item is found missing, an alert message is displayed on the
screen and also sent to the user on the phone (GSM module).
