FADE IN:
EXT: CAR PARK, STAIRWAY NEAR SAINSBURYS LATE AFTERNOON
ASHLEY (16) a young, black boy dressed in a black jeans and bomber
jacket is on his way back from Sainsburys going home, whilst listening
to music from his phone.
His music is interrupted from a text message he has just received. He
takes his phone out of his pocket and begins to read the text message.
It reads:
Beef with the other side; Ive got a gun for us to use. Ill call you
later so you know where we meet me. Oh yeah, remember to get rid of the
knife bro.
ASHLEY has a distressed look on his face. He drops the bag of shopping
and pauses.
ASHLEYS fingers

ASHLEY sends the text and turns off his phone. Angrily, he puts the
phone in his pocket, picks up the shopping bag and continues walking.
ASHLEY constantly looks back as he is walking. He stops at a bush and
takes the knife he has previously hid.
Looking back once more, he puts the knife into his waist and zips up
his jacket.
With a look of fear on his face, he starts thinking about where to
dispose of the knife as he continues walking.

ASHLEY slowly walks down the alleyway, with his head held down.
In the distance, he sees an older teenage black boy, who is dressed in
a black jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.
ASHLEY seems hesitant to walk past this teenage boy but continues
walking anyway.
He pauses. He realises JAY is the figure in the distance.
JAY continues to walk towards ASHLEY.

JAY
Oi ASHLEY, what you saying?

JAY and ASHLEY spud each other.

JAY and ASHLEY walk into alleyway close by to avoid being seen by
anyone.
JAY places his hand on ASHLEYS shoulder.

JAY
We need to talk you know. I hate mandem that let me down bruv, I need
people I can rely on.

ASHLEY
Look JAY, I already told you that I dont want to be involved in this
anymore. Im sorry init but Im not on it.

JAY puts his hands on his head in frustration.

JAY has a nasty screw face on and is clenching his fists.
ASHLEY attempts to walk past him but is stopped as JAY punches him in
the stomach. He drops to the ground and is groaning in pain.

JAY
Ive told you that I hate mandem who let me down, and now you want to
mess up the whole set? Nah brudda, that cant happen.

JAY kisses his teeth and turns around, about to walk away from ASHLEY
who is attempting to get up from the ground.

JAY turns around and glances down at ASHLEYS hand. He noticed that
ASHLEY is holding a knife.
ASHLEY walks to the alleyway with the knife in his hand.
JAY has a perplexed look on his face and pauses.

JAY
Bruv, what you doing? Put that down man, stop playing games...

ASHLEY pays no attention to what JAY is saying; he begins to walk

towards JAY.
JAY looks scared and slowly walks backwards, edging away from ASHLEY.
ASHLEY aggressively stabs the knife into JAYS stomach and drops the
knife.
JAY growls in pain and falls to the ground. He is struggling to breathe
and his words are slurred.
