STANDARD PERCOLATION TEST PROCEDURE
CONSULTANT:
1. Excavate percolation test hole with diameter between 100mm to 300mm

at a depth of soakaway trench by hand or auger.
2. Cover the bottom of the test hole with 50mm layer of 20mm crushed stones to
protect the bottom of from scouring.
3. Soak the ground by filling the test hole with water to a depth of 300mm and
maintain this level by adding water for at least four (4) hours. (In sand soil with
little or no clay soaking is not necessary).

water level over a period of 30 minutes or until the water has drained away.
