Lab Rubric

The laboratory rubric assesses student lab reports on several criteria in 4 categories: the title, hypothesis, variables, and observation/results section. A score of 4 is given if the title is a question directly related to the topic, the hypothesis directly relates to the problem with background information, all variables are identified and relevant, and all data is organized and presented clearly. A conclusion of 3 or below requires improvement in relating the hypothesis to the problem, identifying variables, presenting data, analyzing results, and discussing weaknesses and changes to the procedure.
