KELERA: (INTRODUCTION) Hello and welcome! You are watching The Mews,
and in todays segment well be giving you a taste of what being in
the music industry is like and what it takes to make it in one of
the most desirable industries.
Firstly, Ally Colquhoun with Dan who is a music student at the
Henley College to let us know a bit more information on the skills
needed to make a start in the music industry.

Thank you Kelera. Hi Im Ally and today I am at with _____
interviewing them about the talent needed to succeed in being a
musician.
1) At what age did you start playing instruments and what were
they?

2) What inspired you to start to play instruments?

3) Has music helped you in any way to succeed in life?

4) What is the biggest thing you have achieved by being so


musically talented?

5) How does it feel when you perform in front of an audience?

6) What musicians to you aspire to be like?

as a musician?

8) Where do you feel that your musical talents can take you in

KELERA: That was definitely an eye-opener, thanks Ally. Now next up,
Joe is with Maggie who in charge of the monthly acoustic night at
Magoos.

1. So Acoustic at Magoos... what is it?

record label and has been a back-up singer for different events.

1. Hi Steve, Thank you for coming today for this interview.

2. So Steve how long have you been interested in country music
and who was your first major influence that drew you want to
create your own music?

We now join Jake Clark live, where he is joined by John Clark. John
Clark is an owner of a record label, who deals with the management
of bands. He also has the experience of being in a successful band
throughout the 90s.

1. Youre current role in the music industry resides at Copro
records but lets talk firstly about the early days of you
being in Gomorrah. What was your initial goal for the band?
Was is that you wanted to be famous and make money or was it
just for fun.

2. its the late 80s early 90s, the decline of 80s rock and
metal music turned to grunge however the metal bands of the
time served as larger than life icons with the likes of Motley
Crue, Metallica and Guns n Roses What opportunities were
available for a small thrash/death metal band at this point?

3. Were you aware of the opportunities for bands at the time and
what steps did you take to get to where you were?

4. Taking a step forward todays current state of the industry


what chance does Gomorrah have in finding the same success of
selling albums, merchandise and playing European tours and
American festivals?

5. Now in the mind of the businessman in you how does Copro


records operate, what steps are taken and what is offered to a
band?

6. Is this formula effective for both bands and the label?

7. Copro is known for its work with acts such as Earthtone9,


Panic Cell and of course Forever Never what made your time
with these bands successful? Was is hard work or right place
right time? Or maybe a bit of both?
