Assignment Urban Traffic Impact المصحح

This document discusses a proposed development near the Putrajaya-Kajang highway that consists of an office building and condominium tower. It provides calculations to determine: (1) The production and attraction of trips for the development, which is 3960 person-trips/hour for attraction and 573 person-trips/hour for production. (2) The number of persons entering and exiting is 92 persons/hour. (3) The number of vehicles for each transport mode entering and exiting based on trip distributions of 55% car, 36% bus, and 9% motorcycle. (4) Given 80% of attraction is from Kajang, the minimum bridge width is estimated to be one

KA 6563 Assignment 1

A proposed development will be constructed near the Putrajaya-Kajang highway as

shown in Figure 1.
Proposed Development

To Putrajaya

To Kajang

Figure 1
The development consists of an office building with 120,000 square meter floor area
and a 395 units condominium tower.
It is expected will attract 3.3 person-trips per 100 square meter floor area per hour in
the morning, whereas the condominium will produce 1.45 person-trips per unit per
hour. It is estimated that only 16% of the generated trip by the condominium destine
to the office building in the development area.

You are required to:

(a) Compute production and attraction.
(b) Compute the number of persons entering and exiting the development area per
hour in the morning.
(c) Compute the number of each transport mode entering and exiting the
development in the morning.
(d) If 80% of the attraction is from Kajang, determine the minimum width of the
bridge.

Solution \\

(a)
2
The expected = 3.3 persontrip per 100 m

Attraction = (3.3 / 100) * 120000

Attraction =3960 person-trip / hr

The condominium production = 1.45 persontrip per unit / hr

Production =395 * 1.45 person-trip / hr
= 573 person-trip / hr

(b)
The number of person entering & exiting the development area per hour in the
morning is
=573 * (16 / 100) =92 person

Number of person exiting:

Production = 573 92 =481 person-trip / hr
Attraction =3960 92 =3868 person-trip / hr

No. of car = 1120 * 0.8 * 1 = 896 cars

No. of bus = 28 * 0.8 * 2.75 = 62 bus
No. of m/c = 303 * 0.8 * 0.33 = 80 M/c
Total = 1038
No. of lane = 1038 / 1800 = 0.576
1 lane width 3.5 m

For production:
No. of car = 140 * 1 = 140 cars
No. of bus = 4 * 2.75 = 11 bus
No. of m/c = 38 * 0.33 = 13 M/c
Total = 164
No. of lane = 164 / 1800 = 0.091
