Pivot Tables
1. Go to https://chhs.data.ca.gov/ then click on All Data. Search for Poverty Rate
(defined by U.S. Census) by California Regions 2000-2010.
2. Download or Export the data into an excel file. Once it uploads press insert and
then click pivote table. Drag poverty in the values box, County-name in the rows
box and race_eth_name in the columns box.
3. Answer the following questions:
What county has the lowest grand total ___________
What county has the highest grand total_________
What race had the highest grand total________
What was the grand total for San Bernardino county________
How many Multiple races were there in the grand total _________
Take a screen shot of your pivot table and attach it below.

4. Look at the top of your chart and click on column labels. Unclick all and click
white, Latino and African American. Then press okay.
5. Answer the Following Questions:
What county has the highest white population _______
How many Latinos are in San Bernardino County ________
What is the grand total in Los Angeles _______
What county has the lowest Grand total ________
What county doesnt have any information on African Americans or
Latinos______
