*Depending on how my student comes into the classroom in the
morning I will have activities for him ready to go. These may be
out of order due to how I perceive he will react to work first thing
in the morning.
He may come into the classroom and relax right away, either in the
beanbag chair or on the carpet.
I will try to give him a choice between two activities written out-Activities 1. Calendar. Student will help me put the calendar
together with options of the date. He will say the date out loud and
at some point later, maybe on a walk I will ask him what day it is so
that he is used to hearing that.
Activity 2. Giving him a choice between two books at his reading
level. I will have my students read aloud these two books at his spot
while I listen and help him if he needs it.
Activity 3: Going for an interactive walk around the school, we will
engage in a walk, practice our left and right. Read signs throughout
the school. I will talk to him and ask him questions that he can
answer about himself. (ie. Where do you live? What is your full
name? What city do you live in? What is your birthday? Where are
you from? What day is it?...ect)
Activity 4: Teacher reads aloud a book to student. I will read
Finders Keepers for Franklin. I will have him help me turn the
pages and watch me as I read the book on my phone. While we are
reading and ask him questions about Franklin while we read.
Activity 5: Student reads book and tries to retell the story with story
cards. Asking what happened first. He will have two things that I
will ask him which one happened first. This activity has been a bit
of a struggle for him because it is so new.
Activity 6: Given two choices of either a sorting activity or a
flashcard activity he will complete the two tasks and receive a
break.
