(EU)
The 8086 CPU is organized as two separate processors, called the Bus Interface Unit (BIU)
and the Execution Unit (EU). The BIU provides various functions, including generation of the
memoryandI/OaddressesforthetransferofdatabetweenoutsidetheCPU,andtheEU.

TheEUreceivesprograminstructioncodesanddatafromtheBIU,executestheseinstructions,
