Problem
Problem
Smith,
I hope all is well with you and your family. As I mentioned before I
want to promote high levels of communication between Jimmy, you,
and myself. By keeping my promises I have felt it was necessary to
write you regarding Jimmys Grade, more specifically his lack of turning
homework in on time. Jimmy is a pleasure to have in class and he
expresses his understanding by being one of the most engaged
students during class time. That being said, that effort and love for my
class is lost somewhere between one days class and the next. I do not
assign homework everyday, to simulate classes found in higher
education, college, classes so the homework I do assign is expected to
be done on time and with full effort. Jimmy is at risk of not receiving
the grade he deserves due to the procedures outlined in the syllabus
given and signed by everyone in the beginning of the year. It states:
Homework must be completed and turned in on time for full credit,
any assignment turned in after class on the due date will automatically
receive a deduction of 50%, and, Late work will only be accepted one
day after the assignment is due, unless an excused absence has been
made then you will have up to the amount of days you miss to
complete the assignments,. Like mentioned before Jimmy has proven
that he is understanding the concepts and does well in class but in
order for him to achieve the grade he deserves, he must commit to
completing every assignment from now until the end of the semester. I
hope we can further discuss this matter, either in person or via email,
in order to create a reasonable solution to this problem. I believe in
Jimmy and his abilities to ensure that if this is fixed he will finish this
semester with an A in my class.
